Shetland Freezer Foods Open 2010

A bright but very blustery day welcomed the 48 players contesting the Shetland Freezer Foods Open 2010.

The strong wind made for tough conditions and this was reflected in the scoring.

Ernie Smith froze out the opposition to take home the trophy with a nett 69.  In second place by virtue of a better inward nine was Nigel Timberlake on 70, third was Chris Conboy with Jimmy Smith sneaking fourth with 71.

Stuart Fox, making a rare appearance on the course this year, took first place in the scratch section with a 75, again by virtue of a better inward nine.  Second was John Ewart with Ross MacDougall in third with a 78.

Supplementary prize-winners were Mark Penders for the longest drive at the 7th, nearest the pin at the 2nd was Gary Wiseman, nearest the pin in 2 at the 13th was Magnus Leask and nearest the pin at the 17th was Ryan Watt. 

Treasurer Dave McNicol presented the prizes and offered thanks on behalf of the club to Edwin and his team for presenting the course in wonderful condition, Christine for the catering and sponsors, Shetland Freezer Foods for their continued support.
