1st competition in May was the JW Gray Cup where early season specialist Craig Jenkins secures a comfortable win with 37 points. Next up was the Baroc Golden Coach Monthly Medal, which was hotly contested with superb scores at the business end of the leader board. Winner James Burnett almost broke the elusive Nett 60 barrier with his 94 scratch score which earned him the Baroc - Golden coach vouchers along with the May Monthly Medal title. Great scores from colleagues Gary Wiseman and Alan Patterson earned them joint 2nd, both with Nett 63. Alan also had the lowest scratch with a 72, as he continues his good form on his return to the competition fold.
LEF OPEN - First open of the year spoils went to Dougie Wiseman with an excellent Nett 64, and Kieren Fraser with a Scratch 72. Full report to follow.
Andrew Bain carded 38 points on the Sunday Stableford, with Kieren Fraser following his LEF OPEN success with a 37 points total. This earned both a reduction as they continue to lower their handicaps and play excellent golf.
Last up was the ‘Conboy’ Scramble. This was won by the dynamic trio of Ross MacDougall, Lee ‘Girter’ Carter and John Duncan with a Scratch score of 60, Nett 56. The only group to also keep a bogey off their card as well, so deserved winners of the first Scramble of the year.
