Visitors are always welcome at Shetland Golf Club.
We do not operate a tee booking system: if there are others on the 1st tee when you arrive just wait your turn. The course is not busy except for Saturdays, our main competition day.
Green fees are payable using our honesty system. When you arrive go to the visitor area, which is through the middle door on the ground floor of the clubhouse. You will find details of how to pay green fees, hire clubs, and so on. Payment is by cash or cheque only.
Please note that the club is staffed by volunteers and facilities may not always be open. Please bring balls, tees and such like with you when you visit.
If you require transport to the club we would recommend our scorecard sponsor, Allied Taxies. Call 01595 690069.
Due to our northerly latitude, in the middle of summer it never really gets dark. This means that we can play golf long into the evening and it is even possible to play at midnight if the weather is right. We're sure that you will enjoy the experience of playing golf in the UK's most northerly islands.
Green fees are as follows:
Junior players (under 18) - £10
Clubs are available to hire for £8 per day (no reductions for part rounds). Pull trolley hire costs £2 per day.
Guest players who are introduced to the course and accompanied during play by a Shetland Golf Club member are entitled to a concessionary rate of £15 per day for adults or £5 per day for juniors.
Before play, all players must visit the Clubhouse Green Fees Room to sign the visitor book, collect their "green fee paid" bag tag and deposit their fee in the strongbox.
Between May and mid-September the club welcomes pre-booked groups, golf society outings and company corporate days. We can cater for a variety of packages on request subject to a non-returnable deposit. Contact us in writing, online or by email.
If you plan to visit Shetland we highly recommend that you also play at the Whalsay course. Find out more at www.whalsaygolfclub.com.
